 1. Introduction 

The Content Archival Policy (CAP) of Punjab Ghar Ghar Rozgar and Karobar Mission (PGRKAM) outlines the procedures and guidelines for systematically managing, archiving, and preserving content published on the official PGRKAM website. This policy ensures that web content is archived responsibly to maintain historical records, improve content management, and adhere to applicable regulatory and compliance requirements as per GIGW 3.0. 

 

2. Scope 

This policy applies to all types of content published on the PGRKAM website, including but not limited to: 

  • Textual information 
  • Images 
  • Documents 
  • Audio-Visual material (videos, audio clips) 
  • Press releases 
  • News and announcements 
  • Other multimedia and downloadable content 

The policy is applicable to all departments, nodal officers, content contributors, and third-party service providers responsible for content management on the PGRKAM portal. 

 

3. Objectives 

  • To establish a standardized approach for archiving outdated website content. 

  • To ensure that important and historical content is preserved for future reference. 

  • To meet legal and regulatory compliance related to digital content. 

  • To streamline content management by removing obsolete or irrelevant content from live sections. 

 

4. Content Retention Period 

  • Active Content: Content deemed current and relevant shall remain live on the website. 

  • Archived Content: Content that is outdated but holds informational or historical value will be archived for a period of 5 years from the date of its original publication. 

  • Content Disposal: Content that has surpassed its archival period and holds no further value will be securely deleted from the system in compliance with data protection guidelines. 

 

5. Archival Process 

  • Identification: Website content will be reviewed regularly to identify materials eligible for archiving based on relevance, usage frequency, and compliance needs. 

  • Archiving: Eligible content will be moved to a secure archival repository. Proper metadata tagging (title, publication date, department, etc.) will be maintained to enable easy retrieval. 

  • Access Control: Archived content will be accessible only to authorized personnel or upon request for compliance or auditing purposes. 

 

6. Compliance and Monitoring 

  • The PGRKAM web management team will periodically monitor and enforce the Content Archival Policy. 

  • Regular audits and compliance checks may be conducted to ensure adherence to the policy. 

  • Any deviation or breach will be addressed promptly by the concerned technical or departmental authority. 

 

7. Policy Review 

This Content Archival Policy shall be reviewed every 12 months or as needed in response to legal, organizational, or technological changes. 
All policy revisions will be documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders and departments managing the PGRKAM website.
